Sebum Checker is a fully Japan-made microporous film that captures sebum from the skin surface and displays it as a visible pattern.
By lightly pressing the film against the skin for about three seconds, users can immediately observe and compare sebum levels using reference patterns. The film is designed to absorb sebum without retaining moisture such as sweat, supporting clear visual assessment.
The sheet type supports cosmetic research, product development and evaluation, professional skincare consultations, e-commerce, direct mail, and sales promotion. A PRO patch type for longer-duration application and detailed observation of sebum distribution is currently under development.

Peel the Sebum Indicator Film from its backing sheet.
Note: Do not remove the cloudy translucent film on the surface.

Press the gray square area (the measurement zone) onto clean, makeup-free skin and hold it gently with your fingertip for about three seconds. Then, peel it off.

Sebum absorbed in the measurement area will appear as black dots. Compare the result with the standard reference pattern below to evaluate sebum levels.

The Sebum Indicator Film – PRO Type (Patch Type) is a skin diagnostic tool designed for researchers, used to measure sebum secretion by adhering to the skin for 30 to 60 minutes.
The entire patch is made from an adhesive film that ensures close contact with the skin, allowing for the measurement of not only sebum levels but also the density, distribution, and size of sebaceous glands.
By applying multiple patches to different facial areas, regional comparisons and pattern analysis become possible.
Similar to the Corneum Strip Tape – PRO Type, this tool is ideal for advanced skin analysis in research and development environments.

After washing your face or removing makeup from the measurement area using alcohol or a mild cleanser, ensure the skin is completely dry. Wait at least 1–2 hours before applying the Sebum Indicator Film.

Peel the Sebum Indicator Film from its backing sheet and carefully apply it to the designated area, making sure it adheres smoothly without wrinkles.

Leave the Sebum Indicator Film on the skin for the specified duration. After the time has elapsed, peel it off.
Areas where sebum has been absorbed will become transparent.

Attach the used Sebum Indicator Film to the black section of the optional recording card. The absorbed sebum will appear as black dots, allowing you to evaluate both the amount and distribution of sebum secreted during the measurement period.
The recommended application time for the PRO Sebum Indicator Film varies depending on your testing objectives, such as the desired duration of sebum secretion monitoring.
As a general guideline, 20 minutes is typical, while 30 minutes is recommended for efficacy testing of skincare or cosmetic products. However, the duration can be adjusted freely based on your specific needs.
Naturally, the longer the Sebum Indicator Film remains on the skin, the more sebum it will absorb.
